You’re finally doing it — you’re finally browsing food trucks for sale!
Since you are really invested and have decided to only look at high-end food trucks from a place like Custom Concessions, you are going to receive help every step of the way. For example, you might not know what your pizza truck all needs (or whatever your concept might be), but Custom Concessions will give you recommendations every step of the way, meaning you don’t necessarily have to be an expert on food truck equipment, because an expert is building your truck!
With that in mind, there are certain gadgets that every prospective food truck owner should have outside of all of the food truck equipment, and you can find two of those gadgets below!
Some Form Of Card Reader
This should go without saying, but here it goes anyway: We live in a day and age in which more and more people are making all of their purchases with cards (as opposed to cash, of course). However, there are still plenty of mobile kitchens out there that will only take cash.
Needless to say, that is a good way to lose customers, and it is very easily avoidable.
Whether you get a card reader from a place like PayPal or Square, or whatever it might be, you should have some form of card reader at your truck.
A Tablet/Computer On Board
Why would you have a tablet and/or computer on your food truck? Just hear us out.
Social media and marketing are, of course, huge in the food truck industry. So, let’s say your team takes care of these efforts together. Instead of having to pass around a phone at your truck, it would be much easier to pass around a tablet/computer (one that is already signed in).
You could be logged in at all times of the day, you and your team could look at posts together before publishing and it would just make things that much easier when it comes to keeping your fans/followers/customers updated via social media.
This is perfect for food truck owners who don’t know a lot about social media, or who want to include the team. After all, you will be getting multiple perspectives when it comes to each and every post.
Of course, you could always wait until you get home to do these things, or schedule out all of your posts, but if you want to attract as many customers as possible — and keep them engaged — then it would be wise to keep people updated during business hours, and that is where a tablet/computer comes into play.
If you have a tablet, then you can also use it as a card reader. Plus, there are so many apps that you can download on your tablet, apps that can make things so much easier at your business. Heck, some businesses are even using their tablets as a full-on cash registers now!
